 I own a 95 eagle talon and i have installed a Tial 40mm hp wastegate a few day back and i have a problem. The car is not boosting. first I welded the flange on the O2 housing i took of the internal gate of the turbo but i have left the Flapper inside not sure if it made difference. Than i have a joe p mnbc so i conected the it to the side port of the wastegate and left the top venting. Problem is i don't boost, well not exactly it boost very slowly and only till 12-14psi max. First thing that i checked for was boost and exhaust leaks. That checked out. Than i checked if i installed the ring on the wastegate correctly and that was correct too (flat part on the outside rounded one in the middle. I am fresh out of ideas what is wrong. Please help any advice will be appreciated. thanks

Alex

Ohh yeah i have a 1.1 bar spring inside of it. But no matter how much do i crank the boost up it build up. thanks

Did you weld the flapper door shut on the internal gate? If not thats where all your boost is going. At least that is my understanding of it anyway.

Actually what happened i stayed up all night last night getting this thing on. And in process of installing it i forgot to do one little thing. See you are on good track when saying i was supposed to weld the flapper shut only thing being is that my wastegate is behind flapper on the O2 housing. So I will have to block of O2 housing channel behind the gate. I was so tired last night that i totaly forgot to that. So all the exhaust gases would go by and wouldn't let the wastegate build up pressure. It took me awile but i figure it out. Thanks for posting especially since u were the only one willing to help. thanks man. later
