you must be pretty good to squeeze 400hp out of a big 16g.

any timeslips?

Yea thats crap. Look at my set-up, I'm prolly only putting out maybe 320-330 whp. Thats with a built stage II racing 6-bolt block and head. Show me a 400 whp dyno sheet or a fast ass timeslip and maybe I'll belive that. May I ask how you came up with 400 hp? Also, are you implying that you have 400 whp or 400 bhp. Peace.

NO NO NO NO NO WAY i have 400 wheel horse power LOL. i have been given estimates from alot of people who work on DSM's with my mods that i have now i should have some were near 400 to the flywheel. im asuming like 380 wich would come out to somewere in the 320 wheel hp. dyno tests are coming before and after i swap this turbo and some other mods. i will keep every one posted to let you guys know how every thing went. and what kind of power i get. as for the time slips none with the mods i have now im not to impresed with the car. i have had a few street races go on. i claimed an evo8, WRX STI, and an older body style 911 turbo so whats that some were in the 12's.........................slow.. ok but any way i asked for opnions on non mitsu turbos. i hear so much form the people im around every day i want some outside comments on the subject.

well seeing how a 16g's max power is about 375 hp, u have been told a few lies about ur horsepower, and it will take a built ass engine at 24-25 psi to make that much power, u would be lucky if u has 350 at the crank, which would be about 300 at the wheels(awd cars have more driveline poiwer loss then 2wd cars)

now comes ur supposid goal, if u buy a bigger turbo u would be lucky to make 400whp, unless u plan on spending thousands on building your engine and porting the hell out of your head and everything else u will never come close to making 550 bhp, and many of your parts will need to be replaced again before 500bhp, like the 190lph fuel pump for example, its will max out at around 450 at the crank

i think u need to look into these turbos more and see what their max power output is, and max power means with a fully built engine at the turbos max boost level, chances are u will never see hp numbers that high what that set up on your car, if u really think your going to make 550 bhp then u had better plan on buying a 60-1 trim and spending about 10 thousand on engine internals, porting, supporting mods, and driveline work

with this setup i ran 280whp:
17c
open n1 d/p
bov
mbc
filter
I dont thing 400 is possible, doesn't that turbo make only 36lbs/min of air maxed out

my opinion is just get a garrett/mitsu hybrid and save some dough.

check out the usual Forced Performance or AGP menu of turbos for your new power requirements, whatever they may be. also, PTE has been getting alot of praise lately for their cheap, seemingly reliable, and infinite set-ups.

if you had looked around, you would have seen that anyone making decent power is running a 20g or bigger, a certain green machine being the exception. and they're getting them from all different vendors.

insert riceboy/bench-racing comment here.

ok what i was looking into was a t3/t4 60-1 trim. and GTmotorsports is going to be building me a 6 bolt for the car stroked to a 2.4 liter. i already have the walbro 255 lph fuel pump for it and denso 660cc injectors, i have looked into some diffrent fuel manegment systems. as well as the cooling system is being upgraded. and a fully built motor cost around 5 grand and that is perfect not 10k LOL your wasting your money if you spend 10k on a motor. my ignition is being upgraded as well. the only thing left is my driveline parts. now what wasnt mentioned was that i have 10 grand to play with from a setlement. BUT WHAT I REALY REALY REALY WANTED TO KNOW WAS WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF NON MITSU TURBOS. AND WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF DRAG AND GREDDY AND ALL THAT CRAP HAS ANY ONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY NON MITSU TURBOS OR HYBRIDS.

You cant do over 300 whp with a 16g? Then how have people been running 11s in full weight 2gs at 115 mph traps? People have dynoed damn near 300 whp on 14Bs. I also was able to flow 40 lbs/min on the big 16g, and others have done damn close to that on small 16g. People underestimate small turbos. I figured Leons 11.8 on the 14b would help clear some of that up, but I guess not :D

Many many DSMers run non mitsu turbos. Just search for 50 trim, 60-1, garret, etc. Also check out some vendors like SBR, AGP, PTE, etc. There are many great options. 50 trims are doing well over 400 whp on pump, I dont see why one would need a 60-1. But the choice is yours. Its a big decision to make and for most people is the ultimate factor in what power they will reach. Be ready for bif fuel systems, big ICs, 6bolt motor at least, some broken drivetrain parts, and lots and lots of tuning. The information is out there, jsut waiting for you to read it :)

thank you so much kevin thats exactly the kind of info i was looking for. i apreciate you being opend minded and because other people might not be able to do something they asume automaticaly that i havent done it. that was probaly the firstreply i have ever had that was NOT $h!T talk.
