wow.
just when i think the car is at its peak performance, something else happens.
for a long time now, i've been plagued with fuel cut. even though my propane keeps o2's at .96 and above throught all gears and all rpm ranges, my ecu kept ruining my fun. i could only run a mere 15psi to keep the maf happy.
until now.
i got my tmo chip from mitsuspecialties on ebay; this is the guy that we all assumed just pirated all the software and burned them on to new eproms. its probably the case, but since i havent seen anyone with a true blue tmo chip, i cant say for sure. what i can say is that fuel cut is gone, and that my stock boost gauge is now a timing advance gauge.
####ing. cool.
so this combination costed $390. no, it isn't as tunable as $600 dsmlink + $400 550cc injectors + $100 walbro 255. what it is, though, is 18psi through a big16g on pump gas, stock fuel pump, stock 450cc fuel injectors, with no fuel cut, timing advance never dipping below 20* bdtc, egts never peaking over 950*c, and o2's never dropping below 0.96- for $390.
0.96 is conservative, however. i want to keep things safely rich. if i wanted to, i would lean things up a bit by turning down the propane and see how 0.92 feels. at this point, however, the car is fast enough for me daily driving.
in one week i will take it down the 1/4 at 22psi on a 50:50 c16/pump mix tuned for 0.92v. stay tuned.
