after all this i finally found my noise it echoed so when i was driving it sounded as if it was up front but low and behold it was in the rear that the n1 has like an inch if that of clearance on a certain point from the driveshaft. now i just gotta figure out why this didnt happen to anyone else. i mean maybe i need longer hangers so it hags down lower and not so close to the driveshaft. i really dont know how im gonna fix that maybe header wrap so the noise is not so pronounced and loud? but who elses n1 does this on their awd? that really pisses me the f off. never did it when i first installed it. maybe my hangers are worn, too much play in them who the fawk knows

did you buy the right one? i mean they make one for gst/gs FWD and one for gsx AWD. did you buy the right one?

Not trying to flame but if you did a search, you might have found my post a while back about this problem.
I have a 97 GSX and mine did the same thing. Mine was hitting right where the last connecting flange was on the exhaust pipe. It was hitting the driveshaft where the coupler(not sure on exact term) was.
My guess it that every once in a while, an exhaust comes out with the hangers attached wrong.
To solve this on mine, I had an exhaust shop realign the rear hangers on the can. To give myself a little more room under the car, I also grinded down a little of the exhaust flange that was hitting the driveshaft.
No problems since.
Good luck and I hope this helps.

yup, same exact problem man. i did search but didnt come up with much. thanks alot i appreciate it :thumb: i think im gonnatry and stretch the hangers or buy new bigger ones if they have them, ill figure out something, i love getting creative :dsm:

Like I mentioned, I wasn't trying to flame:D The more I thought about it, I'm sure there are hundreds of posts when you do a search on N1 exhausts...
Anyway, glad to help.
I believe the problem was that the hangers have the can pulled to far to the passenger side of the car(or it could be the opposite). I believe that the hangers were adjusted to pull the can more toward the drivers side.
Good luck and I hope you get everything worked out.

hey i helped put my friends thermal on his awd and it was hitting his drive shaft to so we just jcut the hanger down some and its been fine ever since
