my 1991 eclipse is running only 4psi boost and everything is stock on it even turbo. but i think 4psi is a little low. someone suggested my wastegate is leaking or vacuum lines. any suggestions of what it is?

What is your aftermarket gauge hooked up to? How long has this been happening? What is your vacuum reading at idle?

hahaha wtf. boost fluid huh? my boost gauge reads like 20 in/hg at idle and 4 psi when i slam on it. the guy i bought it off of said that it was set at 4 psi tho so it wouldnt suprise me. my boost guage is connected to the vacuum line connecting to bov.

Damn brother you got probably got screwed a little. I cant think of any reson someone would turn it down for a potential buyer (so it wouldnt surprise you...LOL), if nythiing I would turn it up!! But 20in/hg at idle is to much vacuum. What i would do is take off the mbc (factory boost level) and look for leaks. Youll be bound to find at leist one Im sure, as almost evryone has one somewhere. Then after youve solved that problem, put the mbc back on (as long as you hav mods) and turn the boost to what you want.

If the guy you bought if from said it was set at 4psi, where is the boost controller?

Well since the stock 14b wastegate will open when it sees 7 psi and not before (if hooked up right) then something is not right at all. So either the gauge is not right or the wastegate is not operating right and opening too soon or the turbo is FUBAR and just can't produce more then 4 psi all out.

Does the boost gage go back to 0 with the car off? Maybe try another gauge to compare.

Check the arm going from the wastegate to the flapper to see that it's still connected.

Inspect your turbo for damage.

Also I have no experience with sourcing the boost where you did so maybe that's it. Go source it off the fuel pressure solenoid like everyone else does. Check out www.vfaq.com to see some examples.

i know the boost gauge is correct and yea it goes back to 0. its a autometer gauge ATM-4303. i know the gauge it right because the guy said its at 4 psi. im gonna replace all my vacuum lines soon and check up then. i think there are a few leaks considering theyve never been switched.
