i have the option to get a smoking deal on a Conquest TSi and a 4X4 Mitsubishi Pickup (5spd), the conquest has no title and the mitsu truck is in good shape but has a bad motor, the only was i am interested in them is if i can bolt the TSi motor up to the AWD truck transmission, i know they are both 2.6L 4cylinders, and they look identical, the conquest im not sure on the year but its non intercooled, all it has to do is bolt to the bell housing, i can do motor-mounts if i have to. So if you have any knowledge of this type of swap please let me kow what i can do......

the truck is standard and the car is auto, not sure on the year of either, conquest is non intercooled, and the truck is like an 87-89

It would be best for you to go to the www.starquestclub.com forums, so you can talk to the people who have done the swap, and are driving the trucks.

But, yes it works. 4X4 too. There's a guy who put in the SQ 2.6T into a montero, runs low 14's.

You'll definately want to get a intercooler with that engine. Depending on the year of the SQ, i'm guessing it's a pre-86. Since intercooling started in 85.5 with the SQ's. Am upgrade to the 88-89's ECU, will help alot as the fuel maps are much better, not to mention bigger, better injectors.

Just go check out the forum. I'm JUSTPAUS_88TSi on there. Hit me up if you need help.

It will bolt up directly. There is a insert in the crankshaft of the auto's that will have to be removed to install the piolt bearing for the manual trans. The 2.6 had a big trans pattern where the 2.0 chain, 2.0 belt, and 2.4 belt had the smaller trans patern. Also Make sure to use the starter off the truck because the number of teeth is different. If you have any other questions hit me up at [email protected]

I have messed with the g54b's for the majority of the 17 years I've been on earth.
