Can someone please tell me what sequence and how many pounds to put on the main bearing cap bolts.( the bridge that holds the crank in). My seup is a 96 GSX 7 bolt and all its standard...The bolts are stock and i will be using 20-50w oil to lube. Thanksin advance....PLEASE let me know this is what i lack to get my engine in.:thumb:

I am not sure the TQ specs, but why are you going to use 20w-50? You shouldn't have to. 10w-30 would be just fine. People who use 20w-50 are usually trying to cover up leaks or other small problems inside their engines. 20w-50 is a bit overkill, but peoples opinions may differ. Oh, and I am sure you know, but make sure to use regular (non-syn) for your first oil change or so. Good luck with the build up.

I think he means that He'll be using 20w-50 to lube the bolts while Torquing.

BTW, that TQ spec is 18 ft/lbs + 1/4 turn

Good luck,

How did you get that far into an engine without a manual? Grab a Chilton's at Pep Boys. Mine's not in reach, or I'd tell you.

No kidding.

The spec I quoted earlier, 18ft/lb + 1/4 turn, was from a Chiltons manual. I looked for my Mits Tech manual, to verify, but couldn't find it, must be at the shop.

Well I have the chiltons but I wanted to do it today or tomm. but I couldnt find the chiltons...finally found it....but half the pages are gone...luckily the engine stuff is still there....thanks guys
