I currently have 550s and a 190 pump on my car. I am having to upgrade now and I want to make sure I have enough fuel for mid/low 11's, maybe even high 10's. I plan on getting a garrett 50 trim. My question is whether 660's and a walbro 255 is going to be enough, or if I will need a HP pump and or 720's. I'd rather not go overboard on fuel if I can avoid it. Just enough is fine with me.

Thanks

Chris

it doeant really have any relation to how fast u run, what matters is how much horsepower ur going to need to get there, if ur aiming over 500hp then ur going to come up short, both the 660s and the 255 will reach their limit before u hit 500hp, but if u think u can run low 11s with under 500hp then ur good to go, if ur as doubtful about it as i am then id get 720s or bigger and a larger capacity fuel pump

u might be able to get away with 660s, but ur injector cycle duty will be pretty high, i would go with 720s or 810s just to make sure u dont max the 660s out and have to buy another set of injectors cause that whats holding u back, lower injector cycle duty is almost always better anyway
a 255 might be enough but if u can find a reasonable deal on sonething a little bit bigger i would go with that, again, just to be safe, im sure u dont want to buy a third fuel pump after already having to upgrade to something bigger then ur 190

How about 255 HP, a AFPR, some 720's, and the Stevetek fuel mod? I would look around and see what some of the high hp DSM's are using for their fuel mods, might also give some DSM shops a call and see what they think you'd need for 500whp.

I have looked around and I am considering extremepsi's 680cc fuel injectors. That is about as large as I can go with my VPC with 550 chip and old style AFC. That way I would have about 7-8% margin left to lean it out. 720's would be right on the edge, and I wouldnt be able to go any leaner.

Thanks for your help so far.

Chris

Do not get the 720's. Way too much injector. Put it this way. I've got the MAFT (very similar to the VPC) and have the base set to 550's at the moment. MY Supra TT pump (just a hair bigger thana Walbro 255) is set to 45psi base (via AFPR). AT 23psi on my FP Green, my AFC settings are right around -25% across the board. When I put in race gas, I"m gonna have to go even leaner.

With 720s, you won't be able to lean the car out enough on race gas and the car will idle horrible as well.

As for running hi 10's on a 50 trim. Forget about it. Need a featherweight car, cutting edge tuning, and tons of luck. If you truly want to run 10's go bigger, MUCH bigger. Like 60-1 bigger. Or T4 bigger. THEN you will need the 720's.

But, if you are going to stay in the 50 trim arena, stick with 660's. YOu will be much happier.

OT, can someone give me the number off of their Denso 660s?
I have an opportunity to buy some and want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

I agree if we are talking about a Big28 or 16g size turbos. But I've heard that the 190 is only good up to 360 whp levels and for a 50 trim I'd say a 255 is definitely needed.

Uhh... last time I checked, an upgraded fuel pump WAS a fuel mod. The injectors don't decide what pump to use, the TURBO does!!! So, until you have something useful to contribute, stay out of the thread!!!

As I said before, a 16G only needs a 190lph. Anything bigger than that, you are gonna need an AFPR. Once you decide on a turbo, then you can plan for pump and injectors. That's why when you build a car, you have a TOTAL plan. Can't change your mind along the way, because some of the parts you originally chose, might not fit in the new scheme of things.

for the 50 trim 660's and a 255 will work fine, but if your planning on running down deep 11's your gonna need something bigger, i guess 11.5's are doable on a 50 trim, but not close to 10's unless your really stripping the car and making it pure race, which maybe u are i dont know
