Id like some assurance on the benifits of a VPC vs. a MAF Translator. Id also like to know the cons. Ive found a used VPC for $600, and Ive always said Im gonna go MAFT (cheaper alternative). I was gonna run the MAFT draw through style and not resort to blow through because of the added hassle involved in making a brand new UICP, but a VPC would totally eliminate the need for a MAS/MAF in any way (I like that). Id also like opinions on tuning capabilies. With the MAFT, an SAFC is recommended for fine tuning, but would that still be necessary for a VPC? Before blowing twice the ammount of money, Id like some stone facts about the two to help in my decision. Imput is appreciated, thanks...

I can only give you my experience with the vpc. Its not a comparison review more of a general operation review. I have found that the VPC when paired with the S-AFC is very easy to use and tune when basing correction value on logger and wideband data(if you have one) the only down side to the VPC. Is if you have large cams or a low vac signal at idle for any reason. the unit dumps a lot of fuel at idle since the vpc's fuel table is based on a pressure signal. This is easily corrected with the vpc's idle adjustment and the S-AFC.There is a very noticeable increase in spool up with the VPC, simply because there is no restriction before the turbo. the VPC/GCC and VPC/S-AFC combo have put cars in the tens, thats good enough for me.
