i really need some help

OK, the other night i was driving to my girlfriends and when i got there, i sat there letting it run kinda letting the turbo cool down, and as i was sittin there, i noticed smoke comming from under the hood. i got out and popped the hood, and heard hissing and what not and it started smoking more, i went to the gauge cluster and looked at the temperature gauge and saw that it was almost, but not quite to the H area. I shut it off at once. i let it cool down and then decided to check the coolant. when i went to take off the radiator cap, its popped, and i look in there and it just broke into 3 pieces. so i pulled all of it out, and starting inspecting the engine bay to see for any leaks i could spot. filled it with some water and let it run a little to see again if i could spot any leaks. i couldnt find anything and now had no radiator cap so i had no choice but to let it stay there overnight. the next day i went out and got a new cap, and a new thermostat, i put the new cap on there and drove it home, which is only like two blocks, and me and my step dad let it run a little to see if we could find the leak. we knew it was leaking because we could see a little puddle underneath the car. we did finally find the leak. so the next day we went out to discount auto parts and bought a hose the right size, some oil and antifreeze. we replaced the hose, put some antifreeze and water in, and put some oil in, cause my car has a problem witht he valve cover gasket and leaks oil, that is being fixed very soon. ok, so now with a new hose, a filled radiator, enough oil, my step dad washed off some of the antifreeze that had dripped into the bottom of the engine, and we decided to start it up. when we did there was a little smoke from the engine bay, from some of the water and some of the leftover antifreeze but no leaks, yipee. now for the part i dont understand, as it was running i noticed a large amount of smoke from the tailpipe, it was white. we didnt let it run all that long, but the smoke didnt go away. i need some help from anyone on here as to what youy think happened, i would appreciate any help at all. the car is a 90 talon tsi awd, with close to 180k miles. please help.

....ive thought of the possibility of a blown head gasket, and really hope its not.

Unfortunately, white smoke is indicative of burning coolant. Severe overheating can result in a warped head/ blown headgasket. Do a compression test and also check the coolant/ oil to see if there is any cross contamination. Good luck!
