Ideas on where to mount battery box in 2g trunk.

I am trying to figure out the best place to mount this thing. I am keeping the piece of wood and carpet in the car, but no spare. I do not want to cut my spare mounts out tho so It wont fit down in there.
I was thinking I could maybe screw it to the metal floor just behind the rear seatbacks. Then I can still lift the wood/carpet thing up.
but does anyone have any better ideas?

Yeah I have a yellowtop and it came with the batterybox, so why not use it. If It didnt come with it Id probly roll boxless like you since it doesnt even have acid in it.
 
the box the relocation kit came with is HUGE. it would not allow the batt to sit in that corner. i think the 1G trunk is a little smaller then yours.
 
i relocated mine to the spare tire well, i jsut cut out the center bracket and permanetly mounted it there. the battery tie down is actually drilled through the bottom and welded to the underneath of the spare tire well, to make sur its secure, even when the battery is not in the car, and then is just vented off to the right to the outsie of the car

i went to a local speed shop and purchased a complete batt relocation kit. i think you can get all of it from summit or jegs for like 50 bucks.
 
can you cut that metal bar like was done? Does that offer the car more structural support. If i was to cut that metal piece out like you did would i have to weld something in there or is it just for the spare tire?

all that is for is the spare tire, it wont hurt anything to cut it out like i did. youll be aight
