heres a concept, each car is different. if you just go out and run 25psi without tuning it your probably gonna break something. if i tell you that through tuning a local guy found that he can run 18psi on 91, you go outside and do it you could hurt your car severly.

tuning is very important and once you know how to tune you will answer your own question. playing with the fuel and boost and watching your knock count and timing is very important to the longevity of your motor.

91 octane will probably limit your boost to something that the 16g will handle just fine, if you need to learn to tune just search the forums or message me on aim.
 
I would say 18 on a SMIC. And anything above 24-25 on a nice big FMIC wont make a difference. Don't do it too often or you can go right to the classifieds for a new engine:p .

yeah the thing is I am doing a 6 bolt swap, with 95 pistons with 1g rods ,port and polish head ,polish the crankshaft,3 angle valve job, and more.But the thing is I have a Big 16g on it now and dont have any more money left for a bigger turbo, so I was wondering what hp and what 1/4 times i could expect ...ok thanks guys for the help...
 
I've got a question. When I upgrade to a 16g, will I also have to upgrade the stock sidemount intercooler?

If you want more power then yes. But it's fine to run a 16g on a stock SMIC as long as you dont go past 18psi or so. Good luck. :talon: :thumb:

What is the highest boost you can run on a big16G and still be efficient is the question that should be asked. Does anyone have the compressor map for this turbo? If so, please tell us what boost level is right in the middle of the "island of efficiency."
 
Compressor map can be seen here: www.stealth316.com/images/td05h-16glarge-cfm.gif The highest boost that can be run and still stay in the peak efficiency island is about 15 psi.

I've run up to 20 psi on my big 16g with an upgraded sidemount IC on pumpgas. On the track with 116 octane I once had a 29 psi boost spike that felt really fast, then the boost settled to 25 psi.
