Shaft or No Shaft

I was wondering how many of you have your balance shaft removed in your engine. Does it make a difference? Are there any disadvantages? Got my Engine opened up and just wondering whether or not to do it.

I say if the engine is out of the car go for it, but if its in the car its not worth it. I had my engine on a stand (for 1gina2g swap) and it was a bit of work, but easy enough. I did it for the peace of mind when running raised rev limits. Did it free up any power? Not that I can feel. It does vibrate more, the hood bounces at idle. But at 8 grand I can feel a little more confident.

Well I bought my car with a blown motor so when I put the new motor in, I got the balance shaft elim. kit. I can't tell you what it felt like after because i never drove my car WITH balace shafts. But i can tell you that i don't have to worry about the belt breaking and getting caught up in my timing belt.
