hey guys.

I installed RC 550cc injectors awhile ago and I have been having some problems. Occaisionally, the engine will take a long time to turn over, and when It does turn over it reaks of gas out of the exhaust pipe. It doesn't do this all the time, and it doesn't seem to matter whether the car has been run recently or not. I lubed all the o rings before I installed the injectors so I don't think it was that. I did that according to my shop manual (I believe the exact name of the o-ring was an isolator). Could the injectors be leaking gas into the cylinder? The car is acting like the engine is getting flooded when its hard to start.

Thanks for the help
Dan

According to his mod list, he doesnt have an AFC or any other type of fuel control. You are going to need some type of fuel control, AFC, AFR whatever.

definitely need an AFC or some kind of fuel tuning devices.. ur lucky ur car even starts.. i hear som epeople with 660s with cars not even idling or starting.. but this is cause they dont even have an AFC.. so if u dont have one already.. that should be ur next purchase..

im gettin 660s soon.. but im gettin my afc first.. :)

mine does the same thing with the turning over, but it does it a few hours after recenltly running, it takes a little to get it started like the fuel pressure is all gone or something, i dont know, im gonna install new o-rings and everything

not sure if this could be your problem (highly doubt it) but try this just as a saftey thing....

pull your fuel rail up and turn your injectors where you can see them, be sure to unplug your coil as a saftey thing too. Clean each injector off where the fuel comes out, make sure they are dry! Then turn your key from to the run position a few time (i usually do 3) and see if one of the injectors are leaking... if so... thats why you have a long start problem. New injectors can have this problem and should be replaced by the company if so.

Ok, I had the SAFC long before I had my 550's or even my pocketlogger. It is in my mod list also. :)

My SAFC settings are:

Hi
1k 2k 3k 4k 4.5k 5k 6k 7k
-6 -7 -9 -12 -15 -16 -16 -16

Lo
1k 2k 3k 4k 4.5k 5k 6k 7k
+1 +1 -4 -4 -4 -4 -4 -4

Throttle set at 30 lo 80 hi

I know my lows seem a little weird, but if I try to lean it out at all in the 1 or 2k range my fuel trims get messed up, like -15%.

Thanks fro the help
