Ok I know that the 2g pistons are higher compressions pistons as compared to the 1g pistons. However I am getting ready to do a 6 bolt swap on my 2g and am wondering if I should get higher compression pistons or just use the stock 6 bolt block. My goals are to run low 12's high 11's. What effects would the two different pistons have on my performance? thanks.

I would get the 2Gs for better off-boost throttle response, which is REALLY important when you upgrade your turbo as well.

If you have the cash get some 9:1 forged ones...stronger.. quicker boost response...but you can stillhit 11 with your stock 1g pistons..so it justthe matter how you want to do it and how much money you are willing to spend...

I am in the process of building an engine and I am using Ross pistons. I would also have to agree that they are the best.

pick any pistons but JE.

They are notorious for getting piston slap. It has something to do with the heat expansion properties of them. Probably better to get someone elses opinon on exactely why they aren't a good choice.

Whats the difference between 95 pistons (8.5:1) and the EVO (8.7:1) as far as HP rateing goes. Which set of pistons could handle more HP.

Oh OK. Yeah, my friend and I both have JE. Mine are old (JE was the only choice back in the day) and it's been fine. His are relatively new and he's had piston slap from day 1...
