93NT head on 90 6 bolt block. ARP head studs, 6 or 7 bolt?

You will need the studs that match the block. But as far as modding the head, I havent done it personally, so I wont answer. Just keep in mind you are putting a 12mm stud through a 11mm hole, and its a tight fit when the stud and hole match ;) Hopefully someone who has done a 6 bolt block/2g head install will shed some light on this.

Im using a 1g 93NT 7 bolt head, does the 1g 7 bolt heads have an 11mm hole too? How would I go about drilling them out? Have the machine shop do it when rebuilding?

I just did a 93 head on my 6 bolt block, you don't need to modify anything on the head, because its still a 1g head. You use the 6bolt 12mm head studs and they go in no problemo.

That surprises me, I know someone who has a 1g 7-bolt head on a 6-bolt block, and he had a machine shop enlarge the holes.

I will be doing the same thing soon, I'll try to measure the holes before I put it back together, and I'll let you know what I end up doing.

In all honesty though, I do not see why you would need to take it to a machine shop, there is no reason why you couldn't just do it with a drill bit if you're careful.

Awesome, thanks man. Need to get this motor done for Blakes old car.

Ok....on my head I did not need to drill anything out. I took the head off of my 93 7bolt Engine and put it directly on to a 6bolt block with a metal head gasket and had no problems. Just make sure they all go thru the holes before you put the head on.

Yeah I'll try that, Im waiting for the head to get here, and Im gonna order the 6 bolt ARP studs real soon, if they fit too tight Ill just get the holes bored out 1mm.
