What can I use to block the hole where the balance shaft was?

I got a stage 1 short block from Slowboy racing and the balance shaft is gone but I need to block the huge hole. I know I can order a balance shaft removal kit but I need something asap. I thought it would've been blocked already and I didn't pay attention when I got the motor (or I would've ordered the kit before I was ready for the install). Is the kit the only solution or can I block it with something else. This really puts me in a bind since I'm trying to finish the install before my vacation is over:(

You need the block off piece that is part of the kit, not the whole kit. I beleive that is a mitsu part, and you should be able to order it seperately. Check the vfaq, or ask one of the vendors that sell the kit to sell you the part. Hope that helps.

Ok, I was in a generous mood tonight :) Enjoy.

I was gonna say you can use an overweight Gerbil or perhaps a sweet potato, peel on. Good luck!

Also, if SBR forgot, make sure that the smaller bolt hole under the big plug is blocked off. I always just use a shorter bolt covered with RTV, it helps to clear that area up a bit (weight savings!).
