K&N Filter

Does the K&N filter ever have to be washed or oiled. If so how would i do that? thanx

Yes, it needs to be cleaned from time to time. The instructions you received with the filter should have explained this, but nobody reads those, right?

The lazy way out would be to purchase a K&N "recharge" kit, which just includes a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of oil. Do a search on here, I'm sure you'll turn up the Home Depot answer as well (I'd know what's in the cleaner, because all my go-fast parts come from Home Depot, but I got a cleaning kit with my FIPK so never bothered researching it).

You clean any major deposits off the filter with a brush, spray it with cleaner, then flush it under cold water (making sure you run the water the opposite direction the air flows; for an FIPK, for example, run the water through the inside of the filter toward the outside). Apply the oil evenly to each ridge and valley in the filter. Ta-da, clean filter.

By the way, this isn't exactly "Advanced Performance", and should have been posted in the General/Newbie forum, methinks.

yea, get the recharge kit and clean it every 2nd or 3rd oil change, no biggie..
