Car will only boost 6psi???? The stock gauge reads the normal 10-12. The aftermarket reads around 6 peak, sometimes even 5. It feels like the car stops pulling when I hit the 5-6psi also. After that, it just sounds like it is in pain. Not very many mods as you can see but I was tinkering with the idle screw, maybe that might be it.

umm same thing happend ot me........its proberly your turbo that blew.....check for shaft play.....

Checked the turbo and everything seemed ok... I think I might have figured it out though. The vacuum line that goes to the BOV was disconnected, maybe that was it...

It certainly has nothing to do with the idle screw.

It might have been that hose, but not because the hose end was leaking. Without manifold pressure holding the BOV shut, it might have been opening under boost.

Just take the car out again and see if that fixed it.

Dead-on Kyle, I put the hose back in and zip-tied it this time. Now the car is boosting 8psi but it has always boosted that much. Why is it that other people's cars' overboost and mine underboosts? I wish mine onverboosted. Better get an MBC...

maybe its your boost gauge...it could have been incorrectly calibrated or whatever...my buddy got an autometer boost gauge..when he took of his old gauge he was at around 16 psi, and the new one reads about 6 lbs also, but that car is definitly not boosting 6 lbs, and when he idles his vacuum is like 30+...may want to check your boost gauge for defects? just a thought....

hmm thanks for the input. I am waiting for an AVCR anyway so that should hopefully solve that issue.
