Hey, Im new to the DSM's, Supra's are more my specialty but,
I recently bought a DSM, and the first thing i did was (other than HAck the Air Can) was to Shim the wastegate...
What I want to know is, i see a lot of Manual/electric BC stuff all over all the DSM boards and sites, yet no one (even in the cheap tricks section) has metioned shimming the wastegates.
Is this a BAD idea on the DSM's? If so, Why? I've noticed a steady 14 PSI from my DSM (not stock boost gauge don't worry
) on stock everything, and noticed a large increase in power
Im sure everyone calls it something diferent but what im referring to is the technique where you install washers on the rear of the wastegate's bolts so that the wastegate is physically impeded from opening a bit (I think thats the term). They say 1 washer equals roughly 1.5 psi and they're only $.19
Sure... I can't set injector duty or scramble boost, or PSI per RPM, but hey, in the end 14 PSI is 14 PSI, I just have to wait a bit longer
Plz lemme know what you guys think
