My car has 117,xxx miles on it. It is a 97 turbo. Yeah, I know, prime crankwalk year. Anyway, I am putting a 16g and some other stuff on it. My problem is I am thinking about changing the t-belt and water pump too.

Is doing the t-belt change a waste of money? I say this because I would hate to spend the cash on the t-belt stuff and then have it walk on me. But, there is the possiblity that it may not walk (knocks on wood). I believe the engine WILL fail if I don't do the t-belt.

I do plan to put in a six bolt, but hopefully not for at least another year. Spend the money on the t-belt stuff or skip it?

What do you think? Just looking for some different opinions.

Thanks. :thumb:

Well, you don't want your belt to snap and have to buy a new head and possibly a new block before you're ready. Most folks play it safe on timing issues.
