I just bought a 98 gst spyder, and i love it. However I would like to add some mods to my car, to make it sound more aggressive. Im not a boost junkie (at least not yet), and the only upgrades i want is a short ram intake, and a greddy evo catback. With just those two mods is it really neccesary for me to upgrade my BOV to a 1g also? I have no plans on turning up the boost, but i might remove the BCS. If I were to remove the BCS would i then need to upgrade my BOV? Through research i found that removing the BCS provides about a 2-3 psi gain, which is not really significant IMO. Someone please inform me on this matter:dsm:

I have heard of people getting somewear around 18 psi out of the stock 2g BOV. So you you might be one of the lucky once. Do a presure test on the hole intake. But on the ohter hand the UICP is a restriction it self. And if you buy a new uicp the 2g bov will not fit with out an andapter.

So i guess its better to be safe than sorry, so i should go ahead and invest in a new UICP and a 1g BOV. Id rather not have any problems because this car is my everyday driver.

Do not do the BCS yet.... Do what I did. My 95GSX was running 10psi stock... Heres what I did..
1. Buy a boost gauge (a must) $40+ (depending what kind you get)
2. Get intake (i got the injen intake-dont matter what brand really)
3. Get 1G bov ( i got one for $35 shipped, check out classifieds, dsmtrader, ebay, etc.. there are plenty out there really cheap.)
4. Get the 'dave brode' UICP w/ 1G flange already welded on it.. I can get you a discount if you want (email me and i'll get you hooked up)

Now my car pulls much faster and harder at 14-15psi..I am very happy with it and am leaving it at that. I didn't even do the bcs..Although, I did get a hallman mbc just in case it boost too high (which it didn't), so thats why my mbc is not even installed.. I am a daily driver also and I recommend doing these steps if you don't want to do too much to the car. I don't even have a downpipe, which I know that if I did get one, I definently have to install the mbc to turn down the boost..
If you have anymore questions, hit me up a pm..

David

Thanks Dave all that sounds good to me, Im in the process of getting the BOV and did not know what UICP to get. Im going to check out the one you recommended. Once again thanks for all the help.
