2.4l hybrid question?

this question is simply out of curiousity, when building a hybrid using the 4g64 block and 4g63 head do you need a different kind of computer management or will the the stock ECU get the job done? is a piggyback or safc adaquete for controlling additional fuel for the extra displacement or is an all out stand-alone required? i'm thinkin future if/and more likely WHEN my stock engine decides to die on me.
