i just installed a hallman pro mbc and i cant get the damn thing to boost past 9psi. everything is hooked up right and tight...the bottom of the bc goes to the compressor housing and the side goes to the wastgate and i plugged up where the bcs vacuum goes to the intake.
the instructions say to turn it only 1/2 turn at a time till u get to your desired boost. well ive turned it about 4 times and it still gets 7-8psi...no boost increase at all.

it cant be boost leak cuz my gauge reads 17-20 at idle. i really dont think the mbc itself is broken...could it be bad spark plug/wire? or maybe i should turn the knob more and see what happens?

and the weird thing is that i only got 7-8psi before i put it the mbc:mad:

hmmm... id turn it up more... if its not going up how it is now... then i doubt id do something outragous if u turned it up even higher. I used a TurboXs manual boost controller in my car then upgraded to a Blitz Dual-SBC... both work awsome... of course i like my blitz better tho!

Sounds like you have your connections backwards. The side port goes to the boost source and the bottom port goes to the wg. As for your boost readings, where do you have your boost gauge installed? It should go to the boost/vac line from your intake manifold to fuel soleniod. Later:D

the bottom does go to the wastegate, but the side of the MBC taps (with a T connector) into the line between the BOV and the intake manifold. Nothing is supposed to hook up to the compressor housing. You are getting 9psi of boost because that is what your wastegate is set at.

it is better to take the pressure source from the compressor housing than t into the bov line.
t'in it in can lead to bov failure.

For what it's worth I had this problem. Wound up being that the arm that attaches the wastegate diaphraph to the wastegate came off ! You hate it when little things like that happen cause you are think oh f it broke again. Then it's cool when it's easy to fix. Everyone remember the first time your dipstick came out ??? HaHa. Oh yeah, always fix your problem before introducing even more possible issues. Just my 2 c
