i need someone to explain poriting!

i was wondering what is porting and clipping and all that. ive seen pics of turbos when u buy them and there is a little metal restricting airflow to the turbo, i guess thats what it is, but im probubally wrong. if any body knows what porting and clipping are, any info would be helpful

Porting is basically when you enlarge and smoothe an opening for improved airflow
