I just finished my rebuild of my motor and when I was putting thi oil pan back on I noticed that one of the ARP main nuts was rubbing against the oil pan not allowing it to line up properly. There is a small crease done at the factory to allow for the socket to fit in on the side of the pan.
I have checked and rechecked everything on my rebuild. It seems that all that needed to be done on the oil pan is smack it with a hammer from the inside of the pan to get the ARP main nut to clear the pan to allow the bolt holes on the pan to line up with the bottom of the block.
I just wanted to know if this normal when using ARP main studs. I did a few searches and could not find anything on this manner. I was just concerned it did not go back on like a glove. Thanks in advance for any insight.
