I have watched and heard of the 2.4l DOHC instead of the 2.0l
and was wondering if anyone knew of its potential. They have said the 2.4l blocks consits of either the 4g64 (7bolt) or the g64b (6bolt). Plus there is a group buy for the pistons from
www.limitlessmotorsports.com/groupbuy.html
If its going to be worth it?? If so i'm going to get the pistons and start my project. What makes me interested in this is that it is not a stroker but a built stock 2.4l block.

In essence a 4g64 is the same as the 4g63. The rod length is the same, the crank throw is a bit bigger and the deck height is 8 or 10mm longer (I forget right now).

As for stud or dud I believe Marco made something like 100 more lbft of torque with his 4g64. So I would say its definitely worth it. The only problem is that it is incredibly difficult to find a 6 bolt 4g64 that will work in our cars. I looked everywhere for a few weeks and eventually gave up and bought one from Magnus. So keep that in mind before you start buying internals for it.

Does anyone know if the internals ie crankshaft from a 7 bolt 4g64 will fit in the 6 bolt version the g64b. If I had the g64b bare block what would I need to make it work.
