So I might get this ported intake manifold off of a 1st gen turbo, and mine's a 95. How much of a boost in HP can I expect? I know it depends on the port job, but a rough estimate would be nice.

You can't just put the 1G intake manifold on a 2G head and expect it to work. Your still limited on the port size on your head. Here is some info straight from road races site.

Some guys want to just install a 1G manifold on a 2G head. The port size between the two is quite different, you cant just bolt it on. The 2G head _can_ be ported to flow as much or more than an unported 1G head. But if you can get a decent deal on a 1G head why bother ? I have seen some butchered up 2G heads with the 1G Look that were a waste of time to bolt on. Just because you make it huge at the gasket mounting flange does not mean it will flow any better. The real HP gains are made deeper in the runner and the bowl area where it is harder to get to.

I would do some more research on this before you proceed.

This is totally true. Also do you have a 1G throttle body to go with it?

If I were you, you would be better off getting a 1G TB and just porting out your 2G manifold to match.

if i were u, i wouldnt waste the time and money with that. if u want to change ur intake manifold, get urself a Magnus or Venom sheet metal intake manifold, as u can push about an extra 40hp out with one.:thumb: the downfall is that they normally cost around $500.

Ok lets weigh this out? 70 bux for a 1G TB and port your own mani for about 15 dollars in bits? total cost around 85. OR 500 bux for a sheet metal mani and still have to buy a larger TB for it to work to the most effectivness???

I would go with the first option.
