How to make a custom homemade boost controller ? .....having problems

I was wondering first of all if there was any well documented sites on how to pice together one of these items . I have built basically the shell for it with a screwed tee and 2 inlets and a screw to adjust a spring inside with a ball bearing. I was wondering if this was setup correctly or just basically some documentation to compare it to? Any help ?

This picture I found is abotu exactly what I have setup . I also have the pinhole in one of the barbs to prevent boost spike so it can vent
