I was just wondering what psi I will be able to run and what hp I will be looking at.

Currently I am about to finalize the purchase of a 1996 eclipse gst.

However, I would like to do some immediate upgrades.

First, what psi does the stock turbo run?

Assuming I do all the upgrades listed in the tuning guide under stage 1 what psi will the engine be able to handle?

Most of those mods are just electronic turbo control and airflow improvements. So my question is what can the rest of the engine handle?

What psi can the stock intercooler with upgraded lines keep cool?

Thank you for any help!

Also, any recommendations on parts is useful. such as preferences and reasons for turbo choices, blow off valve coices etc.

stock boost is like 12.2. It pretty much varies from car to car in the 12-14 range on a 95-99 DSM.

How much boost you run is really determined by ALOT of different factors. If I had to take an average though Id say you are going to want to stick between 15-20lbs. Like I said though it really depends all on your setup.

a stock 2g 7 bolt block with stock internals is usually good for between 400-450whp. Though there have been cases of them making upwards of 500whp. They are not rated at how much boost you can run, but at how much power you can make.

The stock intercooler is garbage. Once you upgrade the turbo, you upgrade the intercooler. Its as simple as that.

My advice to you is not to search but to read back into the forums for like 10 days and just read up on peoples posts, their experiences with certain products and what not. Then if you have specific questions feel free to ask.
