a/c belt

My ac belt broke off, i dont ever use a/c and have no intentions of putting it back on, however does this belt drive any other component that i would need to replace it?

No. Mine broke the other day and I drove a couple days before I replaced it. No big deal. Some people even take them off on purpose when they go to the track. I have a 2G, but I would be very surprised if the 1Gs were any different in this regard.

Hi,

I drive my car without the A/C belt on. I figured just open the windows when you want to cool off while driving, it adds power, and takes strain off the motor, so why not do it. I do not have an engine crane or stand, or else I would of done a full A/C delete.

yea i would like to completely remove mine aswell however i dont have anything to discharge the freeon with, and its too dangerous to just unbolt. . . . .

i would just suggest to check your crank pulley you do not want that to separate on you, (it jumped my timing aka dead motor) if you pull off the inner wheel well cover you should have a perfect look at it. other wise not a problem just something else that cannot go wrong for you.
