I just installed my TurboXS RBV onto a Dejon UICP. I talked to TurboXS and they recommended using two packer washers at most to start with, and said I could probably get away with using none at 15 PSI. For those of you that have this BOV, how many washers are you using at what PSI? I thought I read a while back that four was about normal for 15 PSI. I put in two and it seems to run OK, but may be losing boost a little-- I haven't run it enough yet to tell for sure.

jdoug...I will have an answer for you Saturday night since I am installing my H34 on Sat. afternoon. :)

Thanks. Hopefully this afternoon I'll have a chance to take the car out and tune it more and see for myself. I've read to put in as many washers as you can without getting compressor surge.

I use 3 washers in my RFL to keep idle good and no compressor surge at low boost shifts but no leaking at 17psi shifts.

Later,

I used 7 washers in my H34. 308whp, pump gas, etc. 19/20psi.

Standard Spring.

I was using 5, then checked for boost leaks, found some, replaced all vacuum hoses, and some other little sh1t head things, and added two more springs for shits and giggles. It no longer leaked at 20psi, was even better through the mid-range, sounded better, and was held closed better at idle.

Bottom line...

Run as many washers as you can until you hear compressor surge.

And another thing-- is it normal for it to make a high whistling sound in addition to the "whoosh"?

I sure hope so, as mine squeals when I let of partially. To add another question in, what does compessor surge sound like?

Well, I'm up to four washers now. It will hold 15 PSI throughout the power band now-- it did turn out that I was losing boost in the upper range, which I had originally attributed to the T25 not being able to keep up. I might try to add a fifth one later today.

From what I've heard, compressor surge occurs when you either shift or let off the gas and the engine gives you a kind of ch-ch-ch-ch sound. Anyone who's actually experienced it could probably describe it better....
