E-Bay Pulley Kits??????????????????

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Just to lend a bit of credibility to the parts themselves, Mach V sells underdrive crank pulleys, and they've put together a little tutorial on the ideas behind using them. Extreme Motorsports also sells them, along with Extreme Turbo DSM Performance (and, I'm sure, quite a few others, but these ought to be recognizable names for you).

The most common recommendation I've heard when looking for lightened crank pulleys is to ensure that they have a harmonic dampener, unless you're strictly track. Neither of the two kits you mentioned seem to have a harmonic dampener, and to be honest, the only one I've seen so far that has one is Buschur's underdrive dampener pulley, although I'd love to know if others are making them.

Personally, I'm holding off until the next time my crank pulley goes (lost the last one before I'd learned anything about these things), or when I do the timing belt (which is probably going to involve installing adjustable cam gears as well anyway), whichever comes first. ;-) And there's no way I'm getting one without a harmonic dampener, because that's the special kind of paranoid I am.

(One thing I just noticed; your profile says you have a N/A car. Make sure you don't buy the crank pulleys meant for a different engine than yours.)

the turbo crank pulley is the only one that fits the spyder gs, or so i've been told...thanks tho!
