I'm not too good with Compressor maps. What is the efficiency range of the 50 trim t3/t4? Assuming fairly good tuning what is the highest expected boost on pump gas, as well as c16? I'm trying to keep this from being a noob question, but I think I've failed?

Here is a map
[I know you said you have problems reading them. But it might help?]

The max this turbo can really make is 400hp. After that it is game over. The boost is good to about 30 psi. Iam a little new to comprssor maps so i could be wrong.

The Garrett 50trim can make more than 400whp. It can make upwards of 460whp. While it will sustain 30psi, it will start to run less efficient at levels above 26psi. What makes it such a great wheel, is its ability to make such awesome pump gas power. There are several people now makign over 400whp at 22psi on pump gas.

WOW and his question still has not been answered.

The 50 trim wheel by looking at the map posted is within the 78% efficiency island at boost levels from 15-25 psi then it drops from there.

Assuming fairly good tuning what is the highest expected boost on pump gas,

with good tuning and supporting mods you can run 23-24 psi on 94

as well as c16

30 psi is not uncommon on c-16, but you should not have to run more then 25-26 to get the performance you desire from this wheel on c-16 with proper supporting mods and tuning ;)

to further expand on this, there has been a 50 trim that dyno'd at 486wheel hp at 30psi, so it IS possible. It could have made more, but the stock ECU/MAS setup was now a major restriction.

Can you give us more details as in turbo vendor, tuning shop etc.

Thanks

Not saying that I have thrown my car on the dyno, but at 3000ft of elavation I went 120mph running pig ass rich with the 50trim, to be exact I have a t3/to4e 50trim/stage3/.63ar hot side

120mph trap speeds is right around 400-410whp, this was done at 25-26lbs of boost. With more tuning and 28-30lbs of boost I see no problem hitting 450-475whp with this turbo. I love this turbo, I went from 116mph at 19lbs of boost to 120mph at 25-26lbs of boost..

Great trubo in my eyes, I have no complaints at all. Plus I have heard this turbo does great with a small 50 shot of nitrous, I will soon find that out within this race season.

Evil Eagle - it sounds like you have the DSMotorsport turbo sourced from Turbonetics? i have this turbo but the compressor cover doesn't have the a/r stamped on it. anyone know if it's a .5 or .6ar? my old turbo had a .5ar and it looks very similar in size.

Just a couple notes...keep in mind that power production is not dependant on compressor alone. The turbine side is the ruling party when talking ultimate power production as it directly affects the engines VE.

The 50trim is probably one of the best wheels you can get for our application. 78% is wonderful and the islands are nice and big, and if you add BB center section you gain a few points from that alone, then combined with extrude honing all the housings you can have a turbo that is in the 80-82% range which is phenominal!

When i stated .63 ar I was refering to my exhause housing, you have the to4e comressor housing, and should be a .60ar compressor housing.

And yes I got the turbo from dsmotorsports, but only got the turbo from him, thes rest I put together myself.

I thought you had a 60trim?

4mph with 7psi is lack luster, IMO.

I stated before, i went to the 50 trim in severa other post, and 4 mph is not a lack luster, 4 mph is alot in 1/4mile when runing the times I do man, plus I stated that I was not even tuned yet, my god can't people read these days? Not to mention that picking up anymore mph or et is pretty damn hard when running low 12's or high 11's, now going from 14's to 13's, cake walk, going 13's to 12's alittle more harder, going from 12's to 11's pain in the ass with a fwd, the more I turned the boost up, the more my slicks would spin, thus giving me worse mph, if I hooked up just as good as I did at 18'lbs of boost at 26 lbs of boost, then sh1t, my mph would be alot higher. But when you spin as much as I do, then your mph goes to crap. That will be the last time I explain this.
