im sure the amount of hp you have has alot to do with the sound, but my car sounds too mellow, in my opinon, with the extreme cat back, i plan to do a whole 3" turboback, and that im sure will be a little louder.

do 3" "coffee can" mufflers exist... i might want to change to a louder muffler for a more sputtery buzz sound, ifs hard to describe, but just whatch the drifting section on super2nrtv, and you know what sound im talking about.

the buzz sound is hard to get with a turbo car.

If you want the deep bass sound, the type of sound that will losen the screws in your car. well, you will need a 3'inch turbo back, no cat & no resonators. that will do it.

but I warn you, it does get annoying after a while.

I have 2.5 02housing, 2.75 rsr downpipe and a 3 inch tanabe racing medalion(no neck down). if it wasnt for the silencer that came with the cat-back i'd be down right deaf by now.

The best combo though. is the deep sound and an external dumping to the atmosphere of the manifold. scare the crap out of anybody.

Exactly, I like the mellow sound of our cars. The buzz sounds to nasty to me. I do love to hear a nice loud "spool up" and "blow off"

When I removed my cat, it made the sound more aggressive as well. The exhaust note is loud, but it's a sexy loud. Not like a cranked out bumblebee loud. Hard to explain in words.

ok sorry, i may have mis spoke, also meaby its becasue im sitting at the front, i dont hear it as well... i cant wait till i have a full 3" turbo back, i just hope my muffler dosnt muffle too much, i have the cat back w/o resonators.... i just love how it sounds under hard aceleration, im looking for more of a raw sound... i guess thats the cat and what not, smothing the pulses... i ddint mean a buzz

Atleast with our cars. they dont' sound like a bumble bee on steroids , but when a honda goes by sounding like a nest of pissed off hornets and its not moving anywhere at 10,000 rpm it really makes our cars seem qucik. and not to mention stealthy. I can't get enough of these things.

Here what Imma do.......

-Ported 2G exh. mani.
-3" RNR O2 elim. DP
-3" straight through test pipe
-3" Apex N1 catback

This setup will sound pissed......which is part of the reason Im doing it :thumb:

want a bad@$$ sounding exhaust? slap a pair of webcams street grind on your car. makes an awesome thump on my car, and doesn't effect driveability as my daily driver whatsoever. idles like a small block chevy, on a more quiet scale
