MBC not installed

So my car (I've owned it for 3weeks) was cutting off at high RPMS started that all of a sudden )was working fine b4)...so I decide to install my after market boost gauge and hack my mass air...After I did that it wasn't cutting off but was pulling like a mofo I then installed my boost gauge and it's reading 24psi hehe!! a little more then I want.... so I'm wondering why am I running that high? I check my wastegate with my hads and it seems to be fine....seem to have to visible leeks....

so I was wondering is it a bad idea to install my MBC and try and bring my psi down or should I fix my problem before putting the MBC???

Leaks are bad....Mmmm K. ;)

I'd fix the problem before adding something new.

But yah...24lbs O boost is a bit high...>>I dyno'd at 22psi on my old big 16G>>on pump gas...and it was fine on fuel.(with 550cc injectors--leaned out some).

I would start by checking all the vaccuum lines for leaks(Especially the line that goes to the wastegate actuator). :)

A slight tear/cut in the line to the wastegate will cause boost problems.

Also, make sure none of your lines are pinched, the line from my wastgate to my MBC got pinched by my coolant resevoir, and I was getting crazy ass 20+ psi. I'd check for vacuum leaks/cracks, and pinched lines, then install the MBC and tune your boost from there. Also, boost gauge could be reading wrong, check the T fitting.

dude, be very careful with that 24psi, you don't want to burn any valves or pistons!!! get the MBC and see if that helps.
