OK, first the mods. I have a 98 GS-T with a injen intake, boost guage, and airfuel guage. Many more mods to come but I have only had the car for 3 or 4 weeks. With my mods is it safe to get a boost controler? I have the profec b that I got off a friend for $100.00 but I don't want to put it on until I am sure that now is the right time. I was going to get my thermal exhaust first but could not pass up the controler deal. Now that I have it I wanna put it on. If I am going to hurt something by putting it on now I will wait. If it is ok to put it on how much boost should I start out running with my mods?

get a 1st gen BOV and boost gauge first,(i have a mint 1g bov if you want it) set that baby at 15 psi and go for it:D

Do you have a BOV? If you are using the stock BOV and getting 14PSI I am impressed, because those things are said to start leaking at around 11 - 12 PSI.

It's possible, of course, that your turbo is able to overcome that leaking, but if you put in a better BOV, you are likely to spool up and feel your power a little quicker, which is never a bad thing. Also it will reduce the stress on your turbo, and you definitely want to do that.

I get 14 psi all the way up to about 5000rpm. After that it will start to leak. I have read that this is normal. The PSI on the 2 g's is set to 13 or 14 stock and the 90-94 are 9 or 10 PSI. At least that is what I have been told here. So will turning the boost up to 15 PSI really make any kinda difference?

With the profec installed or the stock boost controller 1 more psi may not be noticable but with the profec your boost response and spool-up will be quicker.
