does neone know if the new lancer evo turbos that pump out 275 hp stock would fit on the 2g 4g63? I know its the same engine, but would it be a direct bolt on? :rolleyes:

nope. too many differences to count. the only advantage would be better spool time from the twin scroll setup. other than that its just a regular 16G. the extra hp comes from the other things it has done. hollow cams, better exhaust, and fmic.

Just curious, where you gonna get a new EVO engine anyway? From Mitsu its prolly like $16516198196+ tax of course.:p :D

he asked if the turbo would fit...not the engine

The turbo will fit, Slowboy was selling them for a while, I think that they are out right now...they are supposed to be better then the big 16g.

If that is the case, then the one slowboy sells is an early model one. Totally different from the turbo that comes on the new evo.

It is technically called a "Mitsubishi TD05HRA-16G6-9.8T twin scroll turbocharger"

Remeber, the engine is totally reversed. I am almost certain that the compressor housing is on the "wrong" or opposite side, and/or the wheel spins the opposite direction from standard turbos. Maybe thats the new neon and im getting my cars confused, but its very different. trust me. meanwhile i will try to find a page to verify my information.

Hobbes - Not exactly. My 14B was fried from the day i got the car. I bolted on a 16G to a nearly stock car and saw virtually NO improvement in power. I could 'feel' the difference from adding an air filter, but didnt detect a difference from the turbo. The evo makes power with several things;
FMIC, hollow cams, better exhaust flow, more boost, bigger injectors, IC sprayers, and a few other things. The turbo helps, but wont do much, if anything, all by itself at the same boost level.

*edit* i dont know what the hell happened to hobbes's post, but its gone now. disregard the above statement :thumb:

and lest we forget the evo has higher compression pistons. very nice car if I had 30k I would buy it.:dsm:

like the engine the turbo is turned 180

so unless you can figure out a way to put your MAS where your alternator is....
