I really haven't been able to find what I was looking for via the search function, so I figured id post up here. I have a set of 272 regrinds i picked up about 6 months ago. Not sure why I didn't look them over thoroughly, they looked fine at the get go, but one journal on one cam is scored up a little bit. I can barely catch my fingernail on it because it isn't deep, it just has a rough texture like a lot of little scoring (Lot of little,
). Hard to describe and of course harder to discern in a picture but ill post one up nonetheless:
Remember, these are regrinds so taking them to the machine shop to get them grinded and polished is not an option, there is no more meat on the journals. Is this cam shot? Or is it something I can run after some light handpolishing? Are there general tolerance specs when it comes to our camshafts? I can't find anyone but if I can get the info I can stick some calipers on there. Thanks in advance
EDIT: Forgot to add, my head is perfect, whoever owned this before me looked like they had some oiling issues/starvation, but my head has no scoring on the caps or otherwise.
