SAFC....Boost gauge?????

Hi i just got a Safc..... and i'm now wondering if i also need a boost gauge or if the Safc works like a boost gauge 2?.....i heard their is a boost gauge in the Safc but i also heard that you can't use the boost gauge wit our cars ....idk how true tha is...so could some1 help me...thanx .....

Be very careful. Misuse of the S-AFC can be hazardous to your engine!

The S-AFC is not for boost but to adjust the air/fuel of the car at various rpms. To use it effectively, you should have at least an A/F, if not an EGT. There will little you can really tune with it at the moment being all stock (if your profile is still correct). You really do not need an AFC until you upgrade your injectors, and by the time you get there, you will have many more mods than that. You could probably fine tune for a super slight gain right now, but the time spent would be better put into installing an exhaust.

the avc-r has a boost gauge built in, it looks the same as a s-afc. but its a boost controller

so what your tellin me is tha i still need a boost gauge n tha the Safc doesn't have one.....SHitttt........ owell........thas another 150 i need....does ne one know of a gauge tha glows an indiglo color at night maybe wit a black faxe beside the colbat......if nething do u know of a white face?

I have a Biltz 60mm BL series boost gauge that has a carbon face and blabklight. It is the sweetest looking gauge at night. works great too!!

The thing is that i'm buyin everyting first and then puttin it all on my car once i have it all together.....but thanx 4 the concern.....its shows u care....and just 4 the record.....its a 94 not a 2G....

That's a great idea!!! Throw a slew of mods on a car at once and try and tune them in harmony without any clue as to what you're doing. Also, posting without moon language would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't hurt to use ONE period at the end of a sentence or to spell out YOU.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that there were English majors on this message board that would hawk over my post to correct my grammar. I’m sorry I was so inconsiderate not to think about other people’s Pet peeve toward the way people, talk (type) on the Internet. I assure next time I post, I’ll keep you in mind GoFastTSI and pay more close attention to my grammar. But thank a lot ,I appreciate you pointing that out for me.

Hey Talon:

All we are saying (and hopefully this will save you headaches, time and $$), is even if you buy all this stuff at once, modify step by step. If something goes wrong (and trust GoFast, he's been doing this for years), it is WAY easier to back up one step than trying to pinpoint which of the (insert number here) mods is screwed up.

Oh, and something WILL go wrong. JUst a fact of life.

And BTW, there is a recommended/step by step 1G Mod list also on dsm.org, smart@ss!

Many DSMers don't really appreciate the getto-fabulous slang that's used in other import forums - that whole, "wut up yo, can u help me wit my BOV, I gos to make it louda"... it just makes people sound like they're not really serious about wanting to learn. I’m sorry after reading what I previously posted, and what others have posted in regard to my post.. I notice that I had made a mistake. What I meant to say was…I’m ordering everything first and when everything gets here then I’m going to start to put stuff on. (following the order of tuning guide) one mod at a time….....i guess i'll ease up with the "getto-fabulous" lingo....
