I just got my N1 downpipe yesterday.....and i love it.....still haven't but it on.....but now i'm woderin is it a direct bolt on or do i have to get some custom stuff to hold it up??????......

Alot of perfomance downpipes do not bolt to the stock cat, I have a complete stainless steel buschur racing exhaust and none of it will not fit the stock cat(bigger tubing) Ive never seen the apexi one but if its 2.5" or bigger it probably isnt going to fit without it leaking some. I made a test pipe at work to fit them, you should notice a big difference with it though.

Does the Apex DP eliminate cat??? or at least this is what i've heard...

Hey boost..the DP is the last additionto my exhaust. I am stikk running the 14b and I am wondering how much of a difference it does in fact make. Thank you very much.

TalonTsiAWD94.. your profile says your stock.. im hoping you have the cat back exhaust already before you plan on putting on the downpipe?? please keep your profile up to date as it helps us answer questions

yes, it makes the biggest difference of all...especially when i had my N1 dp on..i swear i felt it fly just after a turbo-back N1 exhaust was on... but i don't remember, but either the DP or the caback comes with an adapter to go from 2.5" to 3" or vice versa...if u happen to need one, i got an extra since i didn't use it and had 3" all the way.

that is a universal style muffler, unless you planning on getting custom piping done get the N1 Catback system from one of the DSM shops.. its a direct bolton with the downpipe and works great on the car

I think N1 cat back exhaust system comes with 3 in. pipings, but there's a 2.5 in. flange to connect to the stock cat.

You need to get a cat-back system. Just welding an N1 style muffler to the stock pipes is almost pointless. I would reccomend either a Thermal R&D catback, or the Apexi catback. Either look on the trader, or RRE.

No.....I know that.....I'm gettin custom pipe from the Dp to the muffler thas y i wanna know if all N1 mufflers are 3"inlet.....cuz i don't wanna have a 3" Apexi Dp tha takes out the cat....with a 2.5" inlet muffler....thas y i want to know if i should go with the N1.....i would think the muffler is 3"inlet cuz the N1 Dp is 3"....

The apex DP eliminates cat but you can still weld high flow cat (3 in.) on it, then to the apex N1 cat back exhaust system, rather than having some generic muffler. apex N1 sytle doesn't have anything with real apex N1 cat back system.

The N1 muffler IF YOU BUY IT SEPERATELY will be a 2.5" inlet. That is what everyone has been trying to drill into your head. If you buy the WHOLE Apex N1 Cat-Back system, they give you a N1 with a 3" inlet ot match the piping used in the whole system. YOU CANNOT GET A 3" INLET N1 SEPERATELY. At least not that I have seen. That should answer your quandry.

OK, my .02 ....the MUFFLER you are looking at is NOT an N1 muffler, its a generic POS(sorry to tell u the truth) BUT the APEXi N1 mufflers do come in 2 different sizes, the N/a(2.5 inch inlet) and the Turbo(3" inlet) and there is the 3 inch cat back system...just get the 3" catback system.

Sorry, but you can get a 3" A'PEX-i N-1 muffler by its self, I know I have one sitting in my room that I ordered from NOPI. I can proably take a shot of it with my web cam if you would like me too.
