i have a 90 talon tsi and was lookin into a full 3" exhaust on my car. i have all the "free mods" done and i am currently running 17psi. i was wondering how much HP i could expect from putting a standard 3" turbo Back exhaust on my car i am lookin at 750 + shipping and just wanted to know if it was worth it. thanks for your time
see ya:talon:

A 3inch turbo-back setup is the best type of setup. Noone can really tell you how much actually HP you will gain.

Depends on how much further you intend to upgrade the car. If you're going to stay with the 14b, then go 2.5" and save some money. People have reported running in the 11s with a 2.5" exhaust, so unless you intend to go lower than that, I would stick with 2.5". I would take the extra money you save and put it towards new injectors and a new intake if you haven't done that already. Also, look into upgrading you intercooler/intercooler pipes too. Here's a site where the guy is making his own piping for the 1g and he's selling them pretty cheap, best part is they are powdercoated too.

At 17 psi you're squeezing a lot of exhaust out of the stock pipes. I did that for a while, too. It sounded like compressed air coming out of a nozzle. The I got a full 3" turbo back exh, and the engine seemed to breath easier, like a sigh of relief. Luckily I got track times, too. On stock exh, I went 13.8 @ 98 mph. With full 3" exh, went 13.1 @ 104.5 mph. I also ported the O2 housing when I did the exh. and I used 17 psi both times. Using the horsepower calculator on DSM.org that works out to about 40 horsepower increase.

Yeah, I think that might be worth it.

You can usually expect around 30-40 hp. It really all depends on your mods and set up. Also the 3"standard turbo back is only $500 plus $50 for the SS muffler.

Thanks guys for taken time to answer my question. you have a been a real help. i am gonna go ahead and order it. :)
