http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/intakeparts.shtml the one they have there it's just soo peerdy i want one for my new block and head but do you think it is over priced? And if i do get my engine up to 500whp think it would help vs the stocker i know from looking at the runners looks like it would have a good bit better flow.... any one got some info on these or others that are good and priced about the same?

I personally like the FRH manifold on Killurv8's car.

RDRKT has recently bought a Venom manifold for his build-up.

well thats all good and everything but didn't not come close to answering my question...

Just how much more does it flow than the stocker, and will it benifit a 500+ FHP engine?

AMS has done many dyno pulls comparing the FRH manifold and the stock manifold and they were making more horse power in the upper RPMS with the FRH over a Stock manifold even on a 16G powered car. The difference on a larger turbo car was almost 70hp (no peak but largest difference).

I do not knwo how the venom is as many people have not tested them. There are several threads out there about Dale Forrester's manifold. I love it and would not trade it for the world.

Most of the links are dead now that AMS redid their website.

I have seen several tests comparing aftermarket manifolds to the stock manifold, but I am yet to see a test comparing different aftermarket manifold to each other. It is pretty clear that those big intake will outflow stock manifold at higher RPMs, What I really want to see is a test comparing Venom, FRH, Magnus, BR and BG. However, I do not see anyone really interested in making such a comparison.

To answer your question, a 500hp car should definitely benefit from a good aftermarket intake. However bare in mind that all them a PITA to install. I chose Venom because it keeps throttle body in roughly the same location, so that you do not need to change your I/C pipes. But it still had a number of issues (you might want to find my post on that).

Yes FRH = Forrester Racing Heads Cast Intake Manifold

I know that AMS has it on their schedule to test a few aftermarket manifolds together. I know Dale personally owns a magnus that he bought to test as well as AMS owns a BJs to test. I dont know where these fall on their to do list.

hmm.. well im defently puting that on my list then.. dont like to hear it's a bi*** to install but oh well.. life is a bi*** everything is a bi***...

i'll try to find out a little more about them before i make my choice though
