how much boost are you running with a fuel pump upgrade/stock inj

did you ever get fuel cut, if so how did you fix it?

I was running 10 psi with the stock sidemount and getting bad knock and fuel cut. Although it was quite cold. Then I installed my fmic and the knock was gone. I turned it up to 14 psi and it ran great. I never went higher on the 450's cause I got some 550's and have been running them. It ran great with stock injectors but the fuel cut at like 5500 rpm (20 degrees outside) and that was just too bad for me, hence the 550's.

that fuel cut can be eliminated with an apexi, or an external wastegate will solve the problem

Please explain a few things to me:rolleyes:

1)
that fuel cut can be eliminated with an apexi, or an external wastegate will solve the problem
How???

2) How is your car JDM?

Thanks,

Austin:talon:

I doubt an external wastegate will eliminate fuel cut..

but I was able to eliminate fuel cut by adjusting the MAS screw

Fuel cut happens when the ecu reads too much air ( well what mitsu thought was too much air) from the mas. The screw helped because when u backed it out it let unmetered air by, so that means less air the mas read. This is why you get fuel cut quickly with a near stock fuel system and an afc turned up, your telling th eecu your brining in a whole lot of air, the afc is tricking it to do so, and the ecu says unh uh, bam fuel cut.

that fuel cut can be eliminated with an apexi, or an external wastegate will solve the problem

A wastegate would do nothing, and if you mean an afc by apexi, it will just bring on the fuel cut quicker if you try and turn up the fuel.

im running 15 lbs. on my big16g with a walbro fuel pump and the only problem i came across was my dipstick popping out under boost. any more boost and i think you will get fuel cut since you will be maxing out the stock injectors

ive gone as high as 19, but id like a datalogger to make sure im not screwing anything up, since all i have to go on is egts.
this is all pump gas.

c16 ill go ~20lbs with more propane.

I just got my 16g in the other day and am only able to run 10psi. Stock fuel system. Anymore and I get timing pulled like crazy (pocketlogger), in fact I still get a bit of timing at 10. I need a new fuel pump but CANNOT get a solid answer on what to get. I want to use the stock FPR, I plan on 660cc injectors, an afc, and pump gas. Any help from you guys would be great.

if your dipstick is poping out under boost, you may want to pull off your PCV valve, shake it in your hand, and if you don't hear anything moving around inside, buy a new PCV vavle. Might not be your fix, just trying to help.

If you had a Big 16G and wanted to run stock inj. wouldn't a 2G MAF help out a little as far as preventing fuel cut??

I had a big16g ported and clipped running at 15psi on the stock injectors and stock fuel pump! I wasn't running lean; I made sure of it on the logger. Anyway I have upgraded to walbro 255 pump, denso 660's, and 19psi. I'm still working out the hi-values on the safc, but it feels good and get good timing advance. Wish I could see knock count though, lucky 1g'ers!

15psi, stock pump/injectors
no knock and tons of timing advance

I just did a the pump re-wire and I'm going to try 16psi.

15-16 psi with a 255lph and stock injectors. When it started getting cold I got fuel cut... Turned it back down to about 12. Until I got the 660's

hi, all.. im running this car now with the big16g ported, greddy fmic, filter, bov, ic pipes, etc.. stock injectors, no afc, no tuning.. car is running great.. but the car really doesnt feel as fast as ive epect it to be.. it feels like timing is being retarded.. im asssuming this is due to the stock injectors and no tuning.. just 190lph fp.. im hoping after the injectors and tuning it should make a extremely huge difference... yes?
