if you look at my prfile you will see what i have, almost all the basic stuff is done, dp, exhaust, intake, mbc, clutch, short shifter, TT, boost gauge, fuel pump,. my engine has 112,xxx on it, so i was wondering if i should start doing some engine works, like crank, heads, ext, or just shoot for a 16g turbo, and get fuel comp and injectors. let me know:talon:

I would say get the crank from a 3000GT VR4. It's an upgrade for our cars, and bolts right in. Oh, and you'll never get crankwalk with that bad boy!

Regards,

We were just kidding dude... VR-4's are V6 motors!!
You gotta tell us your goals and what you want out of the car, budget...etc

There is just abotu everything you can do to your car now. If you plan on sticking with the stock turbo maybe you should get some IC piping, open up some passages to flow to the smic, port the turbo, manny and o2 housing... Who knows...

i mean like engine wise, cause i'm going on high miles, like the 3000gt crank? will that work in my car, and like ported pistons, that kinda stuff

LOL, guess i'll do that crank thing first, and order some pistons and rings, and see what happends, from there

OMG

I hope your just ####in around to get back at them. If not, talonracing07. You have no business behind the wheel of a car. Let alone moding one. How the #### would a v6 crank work on a inline 4? LOL

This is funny shit:laugh:

Of course I'm right about the crank. I've been working on cars for years. But in order for the crank to work, you do have to do some minor port work on the crank so it fits right. Another really good thing to do is to drill about a 1/4" hole into the tops of the pistons. A lot of people don't know this but it makes them much more aerodynamic during the combustion process. Hope this helps get your started. I would call a local machine shop and tell them exactly what I told you to do. They will know exactly what you are talking about, and be most astonished at your knowledge. Good luck! :thumb:

Shut up FasteRthenU! You are just trying to stand in the way of him making all that horsepower! You are just jealous!

a word of advice...the crank thing isnt true. Someone is busting on you. And second, you cant port pistons. Dont worry about ur internals yet cuz u havent done any serious mods. Crankwalk is something u cant prevent. Do a 60000 mile tune up. Timing belt, replace all fluids, ingition plugs and wires, etc.

These guys are just trying to make you look like an ass. If you really want to help that older engine. I would suggest you replace your pistion return springs. With that many miles on it. They are probley well over due. You might also what to do a full tune up. Replace your plugs, wires, and all your fulids. Make sure you also replace your starter fulid, and the halogen fulid as well. Most ppl forget to due this. Good luck on the build up. You can get the return springs at the dealer. You local shop should have the rest of the stuff.

Make sure to grease your muffler bearings. Otherwise kiss that nice new exhaust goodbye!

You should get some of those newfangled cross-drilled brake lines too, they help keep the brake fluid cold to allow for shorter stopping distances. ;)

If you are really set on internals make sure you get the 'camshaft rotational dampener.' That expensive camshaft could be spinning at speeds of up to 7500rpm tearing up the inside of your motor. :barf: This piece should eliminate cam spin.

ANYWAY,
In all seriousness don't worry about internals just yet, make sure fluids are changed regularly(BG Synchroshift in tranny, Synthetic oil [although at 112,00 you might want to run sythetic blend or even just reg. oil]) You should upgrade your bov to an aftermarket or 1g and get an UICP at the same time, then maybe start thinking about bigger turbo and FMIC, After that maybe FPR, injectors, afc, then after all that maybe start on internals, but it might even be worth it (if you do put all that $ in it) to buy a 6-bolt block. (You can find one at a junk yard for about $250) and build up the 6-bolt.

Also, you should remove the upper IC pipe entirely so no harmful boost gets into the motor, and you can prevent all that unwanted horsepower.
