chicopee,
I have a 96 eclipse with 96,000 on it, i want to either get a new motor or find a different motor for it. what would be a good motor to drop besides the originl just with lower miles. does any one have any suggestions on a company that i could put in such as a mazda motor or something like that??? i would appreciate it if you could just email me at [email protected] thanks i apprecaiat it.

Come on people, answer the question. Dont start with the assenine replies..

What model do you have?

Why change it? Unless you are experiencing problems there is no reason to change your engine out.

i wouldnt recommend putting a motor from another make into ur car. i'd stay with a 4g63t that's in ur car. it makes no sense to just pull out ur motor. unless u want to get a jdm, which theres basically slight differences than the normal motor. but that's more work than u could believe. definitely give us a few details here.

if you wanna swap out your engine just swap in another 4g63 in it....alot cheaper, easier, and the 4g63 is a strong engine....or you could consider putting a 4g64 block onto your head

I want power and perfromance, i am considiering just swaping it with a nother one with less miles but i want something with strength the one i have now is not by any means up for what i want to do imagine how shity it would be to put so much into the engine and have the motor blow out on you thats what i dont want i want to replace it wtih something that is going to last. something that can handle what i want. again its a 1996 eclipse rs 2.0 dohc i am stalling the addition of turbo because i dont know if the motor can handle it...
