so ive got this honey of a galant vr4 that is itching to make some serious ponies. but i have run out of money and am now forced to save up to buy part by part. during the last outing much was accomplished... a full tune-up including replacing a seriously cracked ex mani with a 2g. new toys include a hallman mbc, walbro 190lph, autometer boost gauge, and 15psi...

so at 15psi would i really see a serious benefit from upgrading the intercooler and/or exhaust. remember this is a tiny gvr4 FMIC not a SMIC like you're thinking.

im thinking yes... please no brand recos on the exhaust, but i am interested in your thoughts on a 2.5" vs a 3". on the galant i dont plan on running more than 300 MAYBE 350hp (i probably won't even replace the turbo). if there is reasonable power gains to be had with a stock turbo using a 3" over a 2.5" i would probably go that route in case i feel the need for ludicrous power ;)

as far as the ic... i am thinking the RRE griffen/spearco kit looks appetizing. i was formerly thinking of digging for a starion kit but the threads warn otherwise. any experiences or brand recos are appreciated, esp by galant owners. im not too interested in 2g install horror stories.

what to buy next...?

thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post

I would buy the 2.5, the 3" is going to be alot louder and you wont see much more differrence than the 2.5". I run a 2.5" exhaust on my car and i have around 390hp. You only need the 3" for something higher than 400hp+. Save your $$$ and your eardrums and buy a good 2.5".

About the starion fmic I used to use that one before and it worked better than the stock one, not by giving me horse power maybe a few more but it didnt heat soak like the stock one. If you can get it for cheap, i mean not more than $40-50then i would do it considering you said you werent trying for huge power. you will probably have to have one of the outlets cut and rewelded about $50 dont forget some kind of piping.
