Hi all!

Just a quick question regarding a downpipe on eBay....

Do you guys think this DP is a cat delete DP?

1989-1994 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GSX AWD BBP STAINLESS STEEL DOWNPIPE+FLEXPIPE 90 92 | eBay

I don't usually buy things from eBay, I just need to get this car running correctly before I start investing in expensive parts.

If its not a cat delete, what would you guys recommend me do (without welding) to replace the clogged cat with the DP shown above? I have no emissions where I live so having no cat is not much of an issue.

From the pic i saw it looks like it deletes the cat. Btw, youre safe shopping on ebay for exhaust systems. I have one and it fit perfect and sounds about as good as one costing 3x's the price. Dont let that scare you away. There ARE certain things in the dsm world that can be had for much cheaper at near the same quality. Albeit just a FEW things haha

If its not cat delete just buy a test pipe or " high flow cat" ebay will have those as well for cheap.

Thanks guys!

what else is ebay worthy? (mechanical wise) I come from a fixed up cr-z with Jackson racing and T1R equipment LOL I'm surprised EbayDM is decent for DSM's

It's not that eBay parts are decent for DSM's. It's simply that you are buying a pipe. As long as it fits and is of the right steel what else can you ask for from a down pipe. Rule of thumb is that ebay is okay for stuff that have no moving parts such as intake pipe or in your case exhaust. Stay the hell away from ebay turbo's, timing belt kits, fuel pumps etc...

I know you are just looking for something to get the car up and running so this isn't necessarily directed at you but I feel that saying that any ebay exhaust sounds just as good as the ones that cost 3x as much is a bit of an overstatement. While some sound pretty good I have yet to hear an ebay exhaust that even comes close to sounding as good as a Thermal R&D catback. Punishment Racing 3" downpipe mated up to a true 3" Thermal cat back sounds better than any exhaust IMO.

Agreed, Knowing this then later on I will just buy an EbayDM o2 housing w/ a bigger DP, but the rest will most likely be name brand... Thanks for the help!
