I just did the free balance shaft removal on my 90 laser turbo fwd and it idles very rough (shaking) and stalls coming to stops alot. Should I just get Idle set higher, or does anyone have other ideas.

Thanks

What do you mean by shakes(shakes violently, just more vibration)? If you've read up on the topic, you will notice that all the articles state that there will be more vibration from the motor once you remove it. You will feel even more vibration if you have aftermarket motor mounts, inserts or window weld.
Good luck

you shouldn't get that much of a change in engine vibration from just removing the balance shafts. I did this to my 4G63 and couldn't even tell the difference. It should have NOTHIING at all to do with your idle either. That idle problem HAS to be from something else.
Now, back to the vibration problem..... Ummm.... you DIDN'T put a underdrive crank pulley on did you? The underdrive crank pulley DO NOT have the harmonic balancer on them and will make the engine vibrate EXTREAMLY bad if the balance shafts are removed. It is NOT recomended that you use a underdrive crank pulley with the balance shafts removed.:)

After you remove the balance shafts you will FEEL more vibration inside the car (no more is made, just more is felt). Our shop car with no balance shafts and prothane everywhere shakes your teeth loose, well maybe not that bad, but it does rattle any loose bolt off the car. It smooths out up over 1000rpms, but i wouldn't recommend the combo for a daily driver.

Idle shouldn't have been affected.

Vibration is being caused when engine almost dies (idle falls to low) This is happening mastly after hard acceleration and then slowing to a stop with cluthch in it will die.

my car did this when I had a bad plug wire, the cylinder 3 wire was broke off at the connector to the coil pack, shook really bad and rpms dropped to like 400, like it was about to diewhile it was just sitting still but smoothed out once you got going. might not be the same thing but thats why mine was doing it
