To start off my car came with an evo III 16g turbo on it and boosted 24 psi no problem. I put on a sbr gt12 and the turbo blew after a week. Well i went to go put my orginal evo turbo back on. Everything is the same as it was before but now if i boost past 17 psi, i here this weird clicking noise coming from the driver side area under the hood. I only here the noise when im over 17psi. There is NO shaft play at all. It holds boost perfectly fine, just i want to figure out what this noise is. I had this problem in my gst before when i was low on oil. I thought that might of beem the culprit of it. I did an oil change today and still same noise. Can someone point me in the right direction to start. Im feeding from the head as well. Thats where ive been feeding from ever since i got the car. Thank you.

Im still having the problem. Sounds like from the oil filter housing area. Can anyone tell me what they think this could be.

Could be audible knock. Pull ## plugs and look for aluminum on speckling

With my 16g and my electric boost controler I could hear the actual wastegate flapper open and shut at full boost. It took me a long time to figure it out LOL, bit how I figured it out is I upped the duty cycle and the noise changes with the setting I had the boost at.

Balance shaft could be it. Why though would it only make the noise at higher boost levels?

And i thought it could be my ebc too so i hooked up my hallman pro mbc and still did the same thing.
